Tata Harrier facelift teased; bookings to open on 6 Oct
Tata Motors has officially released the teaser of the Harrier facelift via its social media handles. The teaser gives a sneak peek at the SUV's fascia. Notably, the carmaker will commence bookings for the updated Harrier in India on 6 October, 2023. The Harrier has been on sale for more than four years and was due for a major overhaul for a while. Tata recently launched the refreshed Nexon and Nexon EV in the country, bringing in a new and modern design, fresh interior, and additional features.
Tata Harrier facelift: Exterior design
As seen in the first teaser, the fascia now features a full length LED stripe that also doubles up as the turn indicators. The headlights are not visible in the teaser but it is no secret that the refreshed Harrier will come with vertically stacked LED headlamps similar to the Nexon facelift. At the back, the updated SUV is expected to get a redesigned taillights with a light bar and a new bumper. In addition, there is likely to be a new set of alloy wheels.
Tata Harrier facelift: Interior
We expect the interior to resemble the Nexon and Nexon EV, featuring a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, Range Rover-inspired gear selector, a new steering wheel, revamped centre console, telematics, Type-C ports, a wireless charging pad, hi-fi sound system, updated connected car tech with smartwatch connectivity, and more.
Tata Harrier facelift: Features
The Harrier facelift could get upgraded advanced driver assistance systems along with a 360deg camera, powered front seats, ventilated seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, six airbags, TPMS, ESP, traction control, hill descent control, hill hold assist, drive modes, auto-dimming IRVM, four-wheel disc brakes, and so on.
Tata Harrier facelift: Powertrain
Tata is expected to retain the 2.0-litre, inline-four cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine paired with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. This motor generates 170PS and 350Nm of torque. Having said that, it might also come with a new 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged TGDi petrol engine that was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. The power output of this unit is rated at 170PS and 280Nm of torque.
