Tata Motors has introduced a new sub-brand, Xpres, for its vehicles aimed at fleet customers. Cars sold under the Xpres badge will be specifically tailored to fleet owners' low ownership costs and other needs. All cars sold under this brand will get distinct Xpres branding, to differentiate from Tata Motors newer passenger car offerings.

The first offering from the Xpres brand with be the Xpres-T EV, a facelifted and rebadged Tata Tigor EV. The Xpres-T EV will be available in 21.5 kWh and 16.5 kWh range options, the larger battery offering 213km and the smaller 165km (both ARAI certified figures). The features list includes dual airbags, ABS with EBD as standard across variants. The interiors are finished in black with standard automatic climate control while blue accents have been added across its interior and exterior.

The Xpres-T EV can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in 90 minutes for the larger battery version and 110 minutes for the smaller one. The sedan can also be charged via a regular 15 A power socket. Bookings for the electric sedan are set to begin shortly across select Tata Motors dealers. Tata Power will also offer charging solutions specifically for the X-Pres T EV. The XPres-T EV should qualify for the new subsidies announced in states like Maharashtra, Gujarat and NCR, which should drop prices to around Rs 8 lakh

Shailesh Chandra, head of Tata Motors passenger vehicles division said, "We are delighted to launch the Xpres brand which will introduce smarter, future-ready mobility solutions to cater the special needs of all fleet customers â€" government, corporates, and mobility services. Electric Vehicles deliver a very low cost of ownership, with minimal maintenance, at the same time offer a very comfortable and pleasant drive. This makes them an ideal choice for intra-city mobility services."
