Tata Motors to introduce the Tata Tiago EV later this year
Tata Motors has made public announcements about its plans to introduce the Tata Tiago EV as a new electric vehicle to its lineup of EVs. The Tiago EV, which is anticipated to debut later this month, will join the Tigor EV and Nexon EV, as the third electric vehicle in the lineup of the Indian automaker.

The Tiago EV concept was first displayed by Tata Motors at the CENEX Low Carbon Vehicle exhibition in the UK in 2017. The electric hatchback, on the other hand, will be a completely distinct vehicle and will be unveiled in the upcoming weeks. It is anticipated that its powerplant would come from the retired Tigor EV.
A 26kWh battery pack now powers the Ziptron-powered Tigor electric vehicle, which has a tuned output of 75PS and 170 Nm of torque and a stated range of 306 km. In addition, Tata Motors sells the X-Pres-T EV, a fleet version of the car. It is the entry-level model of the Tata Tigor EV, and its electric motors provide 40PS and 105 Nm of torque when powered by a 21.5 kWh battery.
Although the Tiago EV's technical details are still a secret, it may be equipped with the same battery pack as the Tigor EV and have a comparable power output. In the near future, further information is anticipated to surface. In addition, Tata Motors has announced that it would introduce 10 new electric vehicles (EVs) in the upcoming years, with models that span several product categories, body types, and price points.
Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. said, "World EV Day is indeed a special day for us, as we look back and reflect on our journey so far. We are proud to lead the EV market in India, with a lion's share of 88%. As early entrants, we have shaped the market and seen it grow with Nexon EV and Tigor EV. We have over 40,000 Tata EVs plying on road and we are grateful to the early adopters who have shown faith in the brand. Leveraging group synergies, we have also established Tata UniEVerse, a one of its kind EV ecosystem, which is further propelling the EV adoption."
