Tata Motors to launch Harrier and Safari facelift on October 17

Tata Motors recently presented the Harrier and Safari facelifts, which include significant outward and interior design changes, several new amenities, and slightly revised mechanicals. The Indian carmaker is currently preparing to unveil the pricing for the SUV pair on October 17, 2023. Bookings for the updated Tata Harrier and Safari are already being taken for a nominal fee of Rs 25,000.

The front and back ends of the Harrier and Safari facelifts are completely new. Full-width LED light bars at the front and back, a rethinking of the split headlight design, revised bumpers with noticeable protrusions, and some dramatic new colour possibilities are among the highlights. On top-spec models, both SUVs are available with up to 19-inch alloy wheels.

The new Harrier is available in Sunlit Yellow, Coral Red, Pebble Grey, Lunar White, Oberon Black, Seaweed Green, and Ash Grey colours. The Safari, on the other hand, is available in seven exterior paint colours: Cosmic Gold, Galactic Sapphire, Lunar Slate, Oberon Black, Stardust Ash, Stellar Frost, and Supernova Copper.

Both SUVs include a big 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an all-digital instrument cluster with navigation assistance, touch-based HVAC controls, a JBL-sourced 10-speaker setup, a four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, and dual-zone temperature control. A wireless charger, air purifier, ambient lighting, redesigned gear lever with mode selector dial, powered and ventilated front seats, 360-degree surround camera, ADAS suite, and a panoramic sunroof are all included.

The Harrier and Safari facelifts retain the same 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine, which produces 170PS and 350 Nm. The engine is mated to one of two transmissions: a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. To read more about the full efficiency figures of both SUVs, click here.

The Harrier competes with the Jeep Compass, MG Hector and 5-seater variants of the Mahindra XUV700, while the Safari competes with the Hyundai Alcazar, 7-seater XUV700, and MG Hector Plus. These Harrier will also face competition from the mid-size SUV segment such as the Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Kia Setos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the latest offering, the Honda Elevate.
