Tata Nexon EV and Safari Dark Edition debut at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo
Tata Tata Motors stand at the Bharat Mobility Expo was stacked with several different vehicles on display. Alongside the Nexon i-CNG, Harrier EV and Curvv, Tata also showcased the Nexon EV Dark and Safari Dark. These special editions of the recently updated SUVs are based only on the top-spec variants and here's all you need to know about them.
Tata Nexon EV Dark
The Nexon EV Dark will only be available with the larger 40.5kWh battery pack. This front-axle mounted motor is designed to provide 145PS and 215Nm of peak torque. In terms of driving range, the battery unit can power the SUV for up to 465 kilometres on a single charge. Speaking of charging, the Nexon EV can be charged from 10 to 100 percent in six hours using a 7.2kW AC charger.
The Nexon EV Dark has an all-black front grille, slash pattern fog light housing, a Piano Black finish on the bumper, and blacked-out 16-inch alloy wheels. The SUV will continue to receive a full-width LED light bar in the front and back, split LED headlights, LED taillights, 360-degree surround camera, shark-fin antenna, and a concealed rear wiper with washer.
The Nexon EV Dark will include a black dashboard, black leatherette seats, and an engraved 'Dark' wordmark on the headrests. It will include all of the features included in the top-spec Nexon EV, along with all prior Dark editions. Features list includes a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, all-digital instrument cluster, JBL-sourced nine-speaker music system, two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated logo, ventilated front seats, wireless charger, rear AC vents, auto-dimming IRVM, and multiple drive modes.
Tata Safari Dark
The Safari Dark that Tata is showcasing at the Bharat Mobility Show is different from the current Dark version that is offered with Adventure+, Accomplished and Accomplished+ variants. This Edition of the car is similar to the Red Dark Edition that was available on the pre-facelift model.
Changes from the outside are confined to minor red accents such as the inserts on the fog lamps, fender badging, the brake callipers and the Safari wordmark in profile and at the back. The dashboard is coated in Steel Black, with a strip of red LED running across it. The seats are totally covered in Red leatherette upholstery, with a few Dark Chrome inlays around the interior.
The features list includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch all-digital driver display, a 10-speaker JBL sound system with Harman AudioworX, paddle shifters, dual-zone temperature control, multi-colour ambient lighting, a Range Rover-style gear selector, and capacitive touch buttons for AC and a lot more.
