Tata Nexon facelift scores 5-star safety rating in Global NCAP crash test
The Tata Nexon facelift has achieved a 5-star Global NCAP rating for both adult and child occupant protection during the #SaferCarsForIndia testing. The recent rating is applicable to Nexon models manufactured from 8 August 2023.
Notably, it has secured the second-highest crash test score for adult and child passenger safety as the Tata Safari and Harrier facelifts continue to hold the top spot for the highest Global NCAP rating. Interestingly, the Nexon was the first vehicle to receive a five-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test back in 2018.
During the evaluation, the Global NCAP assessed the Nexon facelift across various parameters, including frontal and side impact protection, pedestrian protection, side pole impact protection, and Electronic Stability Control (ESC). The SUV earned a score of 32.22 out of 34 for adult occupant protection and 44.52 out of 49 for child passenger protection.
Global NCAP highlighted that the Tata Nexon showed a stable structure and robust restraint system, which offered a good protection and almost full protection for child occupants in the dynamic tests. Speaking of which, it comes with the i-size ISOFIX anchor points and a passenger airbag disabling switch. Further, the Nexon adheres the UN127 and GTR9 requirements for pedestrian protection as standard.
The refreshed Nexon comes with a comprehensive set of safety features as standard, including six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ISOFIX child seat points, seat belts with reminders for all passengers, hill hold control, and more.
