Tata Nexon achieves five lakh unit sales milestone
Tata Nexon has achieved the five lakh unit sales milestone since its launch in 2017. Out of which, the carmaker sold two lakh units of the sub-four meter SUV in the previous year. The Nexon - available in petrol, diesel, and electric versions - has been one of the best-selling models in its segment. Not only that, it is also one of the most sought-after offerings of the carmaker.
Tata Motors first showcased the Nexon as a prototype at the Auto Expo 2014. Then, it launched the SUV in the Indian market in 2017, with prices starting at Rs 5.85 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata Nexon: Variants and Colours
Currently, the Nexon is available in a wide range of variants across petrol and diesel powertrains, including the Dark, Kaziranga, Jet, and the new Red Dark Editions. Along with the ICE version, the all-electric versions are also on offer in the form of Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max.
The Nexon is available in a choice of seven colour options: Royale Blue, Atlas Black, Foliage Green, Calgary White, Flame Red, Grassland Beige, and Daytona Grey. On the other hand, the special-edition models, such as Dark, Jet, Kaziranga, and Red Dark, are offered in exclusive paint schemes. Whereas, the Nexon EV also come with distinctive shades.
Tata Nexon: Features and Safety
The Nexon boasts numerous features and safety equipment, such as ESP, traction control, rollover mitigation, emergency brake assist, HHC, electronic brake pre-fill, brake disc wiping, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX mounts, dual airbags, and reverse parking sensors with rear-view camera.
Further, the SUV gets an electric sunroof, IRA-connected car features, eight speakers sound system, a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, multi-drive modes, auto-dimming IRVM, auto headlamp and wipers, cruise control, ventilated front seats, a wireless charging pad, TPMS, digital instrument cluster, and cooled glove box, among others.
Tata Nexon: Powertrain
Tata Motors recently updated the petrol and diesel engines of the Nexon to make them RDE-compliant. Powering the Nexon is a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine making 120PS and 170Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel motor that produces 115PS and 260Nm of torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual and a six-speed AMT.
Tata Nexon: Prices
Prices of the Nexon start at Rs 7.80 lakh and go up to Rs 14.35 lakh (both ex-showroom).
