Tata Punch achieves four lakh unit sales milestone
Tata Motors has announced that the Punch has achieved a milestone of 4 Lakh unit sales mark in 34 months since its launch in October 2021. The Punch achieved 1 lakh sales in just 10 months, reaching this milestone in August 2022. The next milestone of 1,00,000 unit sales was achieved in 9 months, shortly followed by the milestone of 3,00,000 units in 7 months.
According to the brand, it has a 17.7 per cent market share in its segment and is the highest-selling model across all segments year-to-date FY2025. Additionally, with a 27 per cent year-on-year increase in the sales for FY2024, the Punch was the top-selling vehicle from January 2024 to June 2024. Its petrol version contributes 53 per cent, while the 33 per cent from the CNG version and 14 per cent from EV version of the overall sales.
Powering the Punch is a 1.2-litre, inline three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol producing 83PS and 113Nm of torque. However, this motor makes 73.5PS and 97Nm in the CNG mode and returns a claimed mileage of 26.99km/kg. Transmission options include a five-speed manual and an AMT (petrol-only).
On the other hand, the Punch EV is available in two battery pack options: Medium and Long Range. The former gets a 25kWh battery pack with a range of up to 315km (MIDC), while the latter has a larger 35kWh unit, offering a driving range of 421km. Power output figures vary depending on the battery unit: 82PS and 114Nm or 122PS and 190Nm. Meanwhile, the Punch EV supports DC charging of up to 50kW and can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 56 minutes.
