Tata Punch will soon come with a sunroof and CNG variant
It's no surprise that Tata Motors has been working on a CNG variant of its very successful micro SUV, the Tata Punch. Sources even confirm that production of the vehicle is already underway and as per some details that have been leaked, the car will also be available with a sunroof. The Tata Punch CNG will be Tata's fourth product to receive factory-fitted CNG following in the footsteps of the Tiago, Tigor and Altroz.
Tata Punch CNG: Powertrain
The 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine that drives the Punch's petrol variant will remain in place under the hood of the CNG model. In gasoline mode, it generates 86PS and 113 Nm of torque. With CNG, these numbers will only be 77PS and 97 Nm.
The Punch CNG will get the same dual-cylinder setup that is available with the Altroz CNG. The 60-litre tank is split into two 30-litre cylinders and are placed under the boot floor.
The 5-speed manual transmission will retain its place in the CNG model.
Tata Punch CNG: Variants and Sunroof
According to information that has been leaked, Tata will offer the CNG alternative with practically most of its variants. Tata won't provide the CNG kit with the Punch Camo Edition, that much is certain.
Tata will also offer a sunroof with Accomplish Dazzle trim and higher for those that desire one. Yes, all variants above Accomplished Dazzle will come standard with a sunroof, including the petrol-only and petrol+CNG versions. Currently, in this segment, the recently launched Hyundai Exter is the only car available with a sunroof.
Tata Punch CNG: Interiors
The inside of the Punch CNG will be identical to that of the petrol model. The 'i-CNG' insignia on the tailgate, on the other hand, will be added to the exterior. It will include a computerized driver's display, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and of course, a sunroof.
Currently, the Tata Punch is priced from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9.51 lakh (ex-showroom).
