Tata Safari XMS variant launched in India, prices start from Rs 17.96 lakh
The Tata Safari variant lineup now includes the XMS and XMAS, two new versions from Tata Motors. They are positioned between the respective XM and XT models and are priced at Rs 17.96 lakh and Rs 19.26 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). Due to the addition of new features, the XMS and XMAS versions of the Safari are both Rs 1.17 lakh more expensive than the XM and XMA versions, respectively.
The Tata Safari XMS and XMAS variants come with more features compared to the XM variant, including a panoramic sunroof, Eco, City, and Sport drive modes, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, four speakers, and four tweeters, steering-mounted controls, a reverse parking camera, rain-sensing wipers, a height-adjustable driver seat, auto headlamps, and electrically fold.
The new Safari models have not undergone any mechanical modifications from Tata. The identical 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine, producing 170PS and 350 Nm of torque, powers each of them. The XMAS version receives a 6-speed automated gearbox in contrast to the XMS variant's 6-speed manual gearbox.
The Harrier SUV's XMS and XMAS models were also introduced earlier this month by Tata Motors. The Tata Safari range starts from Rs 15.34 lakh onwards.
