Tata Tigor AMT CNG vs Petrol: What is different?
Tata Motors recently introduced India's first CNG-automatic vehicles, called the Tiago iCNG AMT and Tigor iCNG AMT. With this, the CNG-powered Tigor and Tiago get a special new colour and a handful of CNG-specific features. Having said that, we compare the Tigor CNG AMT and Tigor petrol AMT to find out the differences.
Tata Tigor CNG AMT vs Tata Tigor Petrol AMT: Variants, Pricing, and Colours
The Tigor CNG AMT is available in two variants: XZA and XZA+, while the Tigor petrol AMT can be had in the XMA and XZA+ variants. The CNG automatic variants have been priced at Rs 8.85 lakh and Rs 9.95 lakh (both ex-showroom), respectively. Whereas, the price of the petrol AMT variants starts at Rs 7.40 lakh and goes up to Rs 8.60 lakh (both ex-showroom). Notably, the Tigor CNG AMT now gets a new Meteor Bronze colour. Unlike the petrol AMT version, the Tigor CNG AMT does not come with alloy wheels. It gets 14-inch steel wheels instead.
Tata Tigor CNG AMT vs Tata Tigor Petrol AMT: Features
Both petrol and iCNG-powered Tigor AMT share the same features, such as a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, USB Type-C port, leatheratte seat covers, TPMS, auto headlamps and wipers, cooled glove box, dual airbags, corner stability control, and more. The Tigor CNG AMT, however, misses out on cruise control.
The Tigor CNG AMT also boasts a few CNG-specific features, such as a direct start in CNG mode, auto-switch between fuels, and an auto engine turn off function, called micro switch. There is also a fire extinguisher under the co-driver seat and a new creep function for the CNG AMT models for easy manoeuvrability.
Tata Tigor CNG AMT vs Tata Tigor Petrol AMT: Engine and Power Output
Both the Tigor petrol and CNG AMT versions are powered by the same a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 86PS and 113Nm of torque while running on petrol and makes 73.4PS and 95Nm of torque in the CNG mode. The hatch and sedan also come with twin-cylinder CNG setup.
