After its very controversial rebranding a week ago, Jaguar has just showcased its very first car of its new era. Meet the Jaguar Type 00, an electric four-door GT concept that is set to debut in late 2025. Debuting at the Miami Art Week, this new concept piece from Jaguar has a very striking design that will raise a lot of eyebrows.

A tall hood that transitions into a fastback dominates the appearance. The front appears quite basic with two really thin lights at the top and two more down beneath. A simple rectangular grille engraved into the body sits in the centre.

"Type 00 is a pure expression of Jaguar's new creative philosophy. It has an unmistakable presence. This results from brave, unconstrained creative thinking, and unwavering determination. It is our first physical manifestation and the foundation stone for a new family of Jaguars that will look unlike anything you've ever seen", says Chief Creative Officier, Gerry McGovern OBE

Large wheels, maybe up to 23 inches, as suggested by the idea, and a hand-finished brass ingot with a laser-etched leaper emblem that doubles as a camera cover - will be displayed on the side profile.

The GT is most likely going to be an all-wheel drive car with two electric motors and multi-link suspension up front and back, built on the new Jaguar Electrical Architecture (JEA) electric vehicle platform.

We know the carmaker is aiming for a WLTP range of up to 770 km and ultra-fast charging that can add 321 km in only 15 minutes, cutting down on waiting times, even if official specifications are still being kept under wraps.

Jaguar refers to this kind of design as "exuberant modernism." Large butterfly doors on the Type 00 open to show a simple cabin with a brass bar running across the middle. A brass spine divides the flat front seats. Two huge displays, one on each side of the spine, swivel up from the dash in place of any visible instruments or controls. Here, the strikethrough design works well to hide these components, including a sound bar, while also giving the interior a distinctive and intriguing art deco feel.
