The last of us: Jaguar F-Type production comes to a full stop after a decade
The inevitable has happened! After a decade-long journey, the production of the Jaguar F-Type has come to a full stop. The final sports car manufactured at the marque's Castle Bromwich plant in West Midlands, England, will join the Heritage Collection and be handed over to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust.
Introduced in 2013, the F-Type was Jaguar's first two-seat sports car in almost 40 years, with its coup version debuting in 2014. So far, 87,731 examples have been produced. However, there is still a golden opportunity to get your hands on one of the last F-Type models, as the car will be available for purchase until early 2025. This final F-Type will be handed over to the custodians of Jaguar's history, the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust (JDHT). It will join its E-Type predecessor in the official Jaguar Heritage collection and participate in various special events this year.
In contrast, Jaguar produced 72,528 E-Types, ending with a special run of 50 cars. With the exception of one, all the cars were painted black, except for the second-to-last car, which was in British Racing Green and provided to a private collector of Jaguar vehicles. Both the F-Type and E-Type will find their home in the JDHT at Gaydon alongside the last series XE, XF, and XF Sportbrake, which also finished manufacture recently. Over the past decade, the F-Type witnessed a range of special edition models, including the 75 Special Edition, Heritage 60 Edition, and ZP Edition.
