Top 5 most powerful EVs in India under Rs 30 lakh

EVs are getting popular in India and that's many because they are getting slightly more affordable. Well, they still aren't cheaper or on par with their ICE counterparts but they aren't far from them either. And whoever said that affordable cars can't pack enough power to make everyday commutes exciting? Here's a list of the most powerful EVs under Rs 30 lakh.

MG ZS EV

The MG ZS EV tops this list with a 50.3kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor that delivers 177PS and 280Nm of torque. MG says the car has an ARAI range of 461km. The ZS EV prices range from Rs 18.98 lakh to Rs 25.20 lakh (ex-showroom).

Mahindra XUV400

The XUV400 is next and is equipped with 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh battery packs, providing ranges of 375km and 456km. The electric motor paired with both battery packs generates 150PS and 310Nm of torque. Prices start from Rs 15.49 lakh to Rs 17.69 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Nexon EV

The Nexon EV comes in two versions: Mid range (MR) and Long range (LR) with a range of 325km and 465km, respectively. The electric motor paired with a 30.2kWh battery makes 129PS, while the power output is rated at 145PS with the larger 40.5kWh unit. Meanwhile, the torque output is identical for both at 215Nm, irrespective of the battery unit. The Nexon EV is priced at Rs 14.49 lakh to Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hyundai Kona Electric

The Hyundai Kona which has been around for a while now comes in next with its 39.2kWh battery pack and single electric motor that puts out 136PS and 395Nm of torque. The model has a claimed range of 452km on a single full charge. The Kona is priced at Rs 23.84 lakh to Rs 24.03 lakh (ex-showroom)

Tata Punch EV

Finally, there is the Tata Punch EV that is available with a 25kWh or a 35kWh battery pack. The former has an MIDC driving range of up to 315km. The medium-range car puts down 82PS and 114Nm of torque while the LR variant produces 122PS and 190Nm. The LR trim has a driving range of 421km. Prices start from Rs 10.99 lakh to Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
