This goes up to Rs 36.88 lakh for the 4x4 diesel automatic version (all prices ex-showroom). These are increases of Rs 2.30 lakh over the equivalent standard Fortuner. The TRD stands for Toyota Racing Development.
The TRD kit adds front and rear bumper spoilers, TRD radiator grille garnish, dual-tone roof, new 18-inch Charcoal Black alloy wheels, black and maroon dual-tone dashboard, dual-tone upholstery with contrast stitching, 360-degree camera, auto-folding mirror and illuminated scuff plate. A single dual-tone shade of black-on-white is available. The new features like auto-folding mirrors and the 360-degree camera will be optional on the standard Fortuner.
A Special Technology Package can be optioned on the Fortuner TRD Limited Edition. This adds an air ionizer, puddle lamps, head-up display, rear wireless charger and a dashcam.
The Fortuner TRD remains mechanically unchanged from the regular Fortuner. This is paired with a five-speed manual and six-speed automatic. As mentioned, this edition is only going to be available with the automatic diesel.
The Fortuner comes with a serious 4x4 system with a low-range transfer case. Other features are hill descent control and a traction control system. The interior now gets beige accents but the feature list remains unchanged. Notable equipment includes seven-inch infotainment with satellite navigation, push-start, cooled upper glove box, automatic climate control, cruise control, paddle shifters, power adjust driver and front passenger seats and a powered tailgate, among other things.
The petrol automatic Fortuner now costs Rs 30.25 lakh. The diesel version starts from Rs 30.67 lakh while the top-end 4x4 automatic comes in at Rs 34.43 lakh, all prices ex-showroom. A Toyota Fortuner facelift is now available internationally, stay tuned to OVERDRIVE for more on that.
