Toyota Innova Crysta to be sold alongside Hycross
The Toyota Innova Crysta will continue to be sold in India alongside the new Toyota Innova Hycross. The Crysta is currently only available as a petrol but the diesel version is also set to be reintroduced in the near future.

The Toyota Innova Hycross has taken a significant step upmarket with this generation. With its TNGA front-driven monocoque architecture, SUV styling and petrol/hybrid powertrain options it now seems to cater to a different set of buyers that may not necessarily be looking for just a functional people-mover. This has been the Innova's core audience so far, which seems to have led Toyota India to continue with the Crysta here.
The Crysta hasn't seen a letup in sales and that should continue with its strong credentials among fleet operators and also private buyers. The Hycross will seemingly now fill in the gap between the Crysta and Fortuner, with the latter also having moved up in price over the years.
Toyota Innova Crysta engines, specifications, price
A 2.4-litre motor powers the diesel versions of the Innova Crysta that makes 150PS and 343 Nm with the five-speed manual or 360 Nm with the six-speed auto. The petrol motor is a 2.7-litre unit that makes 166PS and 245 Nm, pairing with the same gearbox combinations. The Crysta's IMV rear-driven, ladder-frame platform is shared with the Hilux and Fortuner.
Prices for the Toyota Innova Crysta start from Rs 18.09 lakh and go up to Rs 26.77 lakh.
Toyota Innova Hycross engines, specifications, price
At 4,755mm long, 1,850mm wide and 1,795mm tall, the Toyota Innova Hycross is 20mm longer and wider than the Crysta but of the same height.
The Hycross uses a 2.0-litre Atkinson cycle petrol motor that puts out 154PS and 190 Nm that pairs with a 113PS and 206 Nm electric motor with an e-CVT in the mix for a combined 186PS. The Innova Hycross will be a petrol-only offering for the first time now and lower-spec models get a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol with 174PS and 202 Nm, again paired with a CVT. prices should start from Rs 20 to 22 lakh.
