Launched in April this year, the Toyota Taisor has been priced between Rs 7.74 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 13.04 lakh (ex-showroom). The Taisor is based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx and shares the same engine specifications. It is Toyota-Maruti Suzuki's sixth product in India. That being said, we recently drove the Taisor. And here we shed some light of the real-world performance of the crossover.

Toyota Taisor: Real-world performance

We started with the zero to 100kmph test of the Toyota Taisor, which took 10.8 seconds. In our braking test, the vehicle required 3.3 seconds and travelled a distance of 45 meters to a complete stop from a speed of 100kmph per hour. The Taisor achieved an in-gear acceleration of 30kmph to 50kmph in 2.0 seconds, 50kmph to 70kmph in 2.1 seconds, and 60kmph to 80kmph in 2.6 seconds.

Toyota Taisor: Powertrain

Powering the Taisor is a 1.0-litre, inline three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that makes 100PS and 148Nm of torque and a 1.2-litre, inline four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor that delivers 90PS and 113Nm. Transmission options include a five-speed manual, a five-speed AMT, and a six-speed torque converter automatic.

Toyota Taisor: Variants, colours & features

The Japanese brand offers the crossover in E, S, S+, G, and V variants across Cafe White, Enticing Silver, Sportin Red, Gaming Grey, and Lucent Orange paint schemes. Customers can also choose three different dual-tone colours. Interestingly, the first three shades can be had with the Toyota Glanza and Urban Cruiser Hyryder too. Whereas, the Lucent Orange comes from Maruti Suzuki.

The feature-list of the Taisor is similar to the Fronx and includes a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, auto headlamps, paddle shifters, 360deg camera, heads-up display, USB Type-C and Type-A ports, Arkamys-sourced sound system, criuse control, wireless charger, connected car tech, vehicle stability control, hill hold assist, six airbags, rear parking sensors, and ESP, among others.
