Triumph Street Triple 765 R and Street Triple 765 RS to launch in India tomorrow

Triumph is all geared up for the launch of the new 2023 Street Triple 765 R and Street Triple 765 RS in India tomorrow, on 16 June 2023. The launch, originally scheduled for March, was postponed by the brand. The latest model update brings a few cosmetic changes to the Street Triple twins, along with several additional features. Most notably, the streetfighters boast increased power outputs.

Triumph Street Triple 765 R and Street Triple 765 RS: Powertrain

The most significant update comes to the 765cc, inline-three, liquid-cooled DOHC engine. As a result, the Street Triple 765 R generates 120PS at 11,500rpm and 80Nm of torque at 9,500rpm, while the Street Triple 765 RS makes 130PS at 12,000rpm and 80Nm of torque at 9,500rpm. In addition, Triumph has given them a new free-flowing exhaust. In fact, gear ratios and the final drive assembly of the Street Triple R and Street Triple RS have also been reworked to enhance performance.

Triumph Street Triple 765 R and Street Triple 765 RS: Design

The 2023 Street Triple R and Street Triple RS do not come with a plethora of changes, but feature only a few styling updates. The British marque has made the Street Triple twin sportier and more aggressive than the previous model by adding a smaller and sculpted fuel tank, reshaped fuel tank extensions, a new fly screen, and a raised tail section.

The 2023 Street Triple R and Street Triple RS come with new colour schemes. The Street Triple R is available in Silver Ice and Crystal White, whereas the Street Triple RS is available in three shades: Carnival Red, Silver Ice, and Cosmic Yellow. It is likely that the India-bound models will also offer these colours.

Triumph Street Triple 765 R and Street Triple 765 RS: Specifications and features

In terms of specifications, the Street Triple R and RS come fitted with a new 12mm wider handlebar. The seat heights for both motorcycles are 836mm and 826mm, respectively.

The Street Triple R and Street Triple RS now come equipped with standard traction control and cornering ABS. The settings of these systems can also be adjusted as needed. Other features include a five-inch TFT console (RS-only), a bi-directional quick shifter, Showa forks and monoshock, Ohlins monoshock (RS-only), Brembo M4.32 310mm dual brake callipers and 220mm single disc (R-specific), 310mm twin Brembo Stylema brake callipers with a single 220mm disc at the rear (RS-only), and 17-inch cast aluminium alloy wheels on both ends.

Meanwhile, the Street Triple R offers four riding modes: Road, Rain, Sport, and Rider, while the Street Triple RS has five riding modes: Rain, Road, Sport, Track, and Rider.

Triumph Street Triple 765 R and Street Triple 765 RS: Prices

The previous Street Triple R and Street Triple RS were priced at Rs 9.15 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 11.35 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. The upcoming models are expected to command a higher premium. Upon launch, the 2023 Street Triple R and Street Triple RS will compete against the Ducati Monster, Kawasaki Z900, and BMW F 900 R.
