Triumph Tiger 1200 gets new active pre-load reduction feature

British marque Triumph has updated its Tiger 1200 line-up with a new Active Preload Reduction feature. This new feature is embedded into the firm's advanced Showa semi-active suspension across the Tiger 1200 range, consisting of GT, GT Pro, GT Explorer, Rally Pro, and Rally Explorer. The Active Preload Reduction feature reduces preload in the rear mono-shock to drop the seat height over and above the standard height of the seat.

The Tiger GT, GT Pro and GT Explorer come with two seat height configurations â€" 850mm and 870mm. The Rally Pro and Rally Explorer also offer two levels of adjustment, 875mm and 895mm, respectively. With an optional accessory-fit low seat option, owners can already lower the seat height by an additional 20mm, which provides the lowest seat height of 830mm for the GT, GT Pro, and GT Explorer, along with 855mm for the Rally Pro and Rally Explorer.

As a part of the new Active Preload Reduction system, the seat can be reduced further depending on the overall weight of the rider, pillion, and luggage. As a result, it reduces the ride height by up to 20mm while riding at slow speed or when the motorcycle comes to a halt. This provides the rider with ease of flat-footing on the ground. To activate the Active Preload Reduction system, the rider should press the 'Home' switch on the right-hand switch cube for a second. It is to be noted that the existing Tiger 1200 owners will also receive the new update. For this, they will have to visit their nearest Triumph dealer at their next service.

The Tiger 1200 range comes equipped with numerous features and high-end hardware, including Brembo Stylema braking setup, Showa semi-active suspension, blind spot radar system, a seven-inch colour TFT display with My Triumph connectivity, cornering traction control and ABS, six riding modes (Rain, Road, Sport, Off-road, Off-road Pro, and Rider-configurable), keyless ignition, all-LED lighting with adaptive cornering lights, heated grips and seats, bi-directional quick-shifter, hill hold control, ride-by-wire, slip and assist clutch, TPMS, and electronic cruise control.

Triumph Tiger 1200 Engine and Power output

Powering the Triumph 1200 is a 1,160cc, inline three-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. This motor generates 150PS at 9,000rpm and 130Nm of torque at 7,000rpm.
