Triumph Tiger Sport 660 launched in India, prices start from Rs 8.95 lakh
Triumph Motorcycles India has just launched its latest entry-level adventure sports motorcycle in the form of the Triumph Tiger Sport 660. Priced at Rs 8.95 lakhs (ex-showroom), pre-bookings for the bike had actually begun a few weeks prior with customers having to pay a token amount of Rs 50,000.
The new Triumph Tiger Sport 660 was introduced internationally in October and is now on its way to India, with deliveries likely to begin by the end of April.
The Triumph Tiger Sport 660 is equipped with dual LED headlamps, DRLs, and an air duct, giving the bike a dynamic appearance. The motorcycle's overall looks are further accentuated by the muscular fuel tank, tank extensions, a step-up seat, elevated tail, and an underslung exhaust. The Tiger Sport 660 is equipped with five-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels and road-biased tyres, as it is meant for touring.
Sharing its powerplant with the Triumph Trident 660, the new tourer by Triumph features a 660 cc, liquid-cooled, 3-cylinder engine that is capable of producing 81PS at 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm of peak torque at 6,250 rpm. The Triumph Tiger Sport 660 also comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
On the Triumph Tiger Sport 660, 41 mm Showa inverted separate function forks with Showa mono-shock with remote hydraulic preload adjustment handle the suspension responsibilities. Both ends of the bike have 150 mm of wheel travel. The braking system, on the other hand, has Nissin callipers and twin 310 mm front and single 255 mm rear discs.
All of the major gauges, including speed, tachometer, gear-position indicator, and more, are shown on a TFT instrument cluster on the Triumph Tiger Sport 660. Dual-channel ABS, switchable traction control, complete LED lighting, and two riding modes (Rain and Road) that change the throttle map, traction control level, and ABS intervention are all included on the bike.
Colour options include Lucerne Blue and Sapphire Black, Graphite with Sapphire Black and the striking Korosi Red and Graphite.
