Upcoming Citroen C3 Aircross interior spied ahead of April 27 debut

New images of the upcoming Citroen C3 Aircross have surfaced on the internet and this time we get a peek at the SUVs cabin. This new product from Citroen will make its global debut on April 27. The C3 Aircross will be based on the C3, but it will be longer, have more features, and have three rows of seats.

Citroen C3 Aircross: Interiors

The C3 Aircross will get a larger, fully-digital instrument cluster in addition to the existing 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless compatibility for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Furthermore, the spy images reveal the presence of AC vents installed on the roof for second and third-row passengers, as well as a knob for blower control.

Since it will most likely have a seven-seat arrangement we expect USB connections and split seats for the last row. The C3 Aircross is also expected to get drive modes.

Citroen C3 Aircross: Exterior

Earlier last week, we caught the first glimpse of the new C3 Aircross in the form of a teaser picture. Going by the first teaser, the C3 Aircross will feature a familiar design language with Citroen's signature styling cues. The face will come with split headlights and daytime running lights reminiscent of the C3 hatchback. Other exterior highlights are likely to include body cladding across the lower panels, alloy wheels, and square-shaped taillights. Citreon is also expected to offer a wide range of mono-tone and dual-tone paint options with the SUV.

Citroen C3 Aircross: Powertrains

Powering the new C3 Aircross three-row SUV is expected to be a 1.2-litre three-cylinder, turbocharged PureTech petrol engine that produces 110PS and 190Nm of torque. It is the same unit that Citroen offers with the C3 hatchback. While it comes mated to the six-speed manual gearbox in the C3, the brand may provide a new automatic transmission, for reference, the EAT6 or EAT8 (Efficient Automatic Transmission) six or eight-speed automatic transmission available in some of its global models.

Having said that, it would be surprising if the C3 Aircross gets the more powerful PureTech 130 powertrain.

Citroen C3 Aircross: Pricing and Rivals

The prices of the C3 Aircross compact SUV could range from Rs 9 lakh and go up to Rs 16 lakh. We expect Citroen to open bookings for the SUV at the unveiling and also announce a launch date. Upon launch, it will take on the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and MG Astor.

Being a three-row SUV, it will also compete against the Maruti Suzuki siblings, the Ertiga and XL6 as well as the Kia Carens.
