Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza facelift spied again, more details revealed

The next major model set for a revamp as per Maruti Suzuki's product onslaught for 2022 is the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Earlier leaks have shown that the Brezza will get a significant update, like the Baleno. A new set of spy images have now revealed more about these changes

The generally boxy look of the Brezza is carried forward although the fascia has been heavily reworked to sport a much more aggressive look. The grille is much wide and highlighted in gloss black, there is a higher bonnet line, sharper headlamps with new LED DRLs and darkened housings while the bumper has been heavily reworked to add a much more prominent airdam with more gloss-black details.

The images show that the SUV will remain largely identical in profile, with straight body panels and large doors. The rear is again significantly different with a reworked boot lid and bumpers, as evidenced by the new number plate placement. The taillamps are LED units that are now been widened and extend further into the body. A new set of alloy wheels should round off the changes.

On the inside, the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza sees a new dashboard along with new upholstery and materials. Notable changes here are the new 9-inch infotainment possibly with wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay that was also seen in the recent Baleno leaks, while a sunroof has been added too. There is the instrument cluster from the Baleno, while the HUD can also be expected, with some level of connected-car features as well as paddle shifters. Other than this the interior space and comfort is expected to remain unchanged. Safety features should be updated to match the new Baleno, so expect to see six airbags, a 360-degree camera as well as strengthened bodywork, the current Vitara Brezza currently has a 4-star GNAP rating carried over from the current model.

The new changes should increase dimensions of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza marginally, although the 2,500mm wheelbase should remain unchanged. The facelifted 2022 Vitara Brezza is expected to continue with the same 1.5-litre petrol engine option. This motor makes 105PS and 138Nm torque and gets the Smart Hybrid tech to go with it. The motor is paired with either a five-speed manual or four-speed auto, although the presence of paddle shifters suggests that the old AT may be dropped for a more modern 6-speed unit. The fuel efficiency of the manual is 17.03 kmpl and AT (automatic with Maruti's smart hybrid) is 18.76 kmpl which should improve with the update. A CNG option may also be added to the lineup.

2022 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza expected price, launch date, rivals

The revisions to the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza should also lead to a Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 price hike when it launches in India by the middle of 2022. The current Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is price between Rs 7.61 lakh and Rs 11.19 lakh. Rivals will continue to be the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Mahindra XUV300 and Renault Kiger.
