Upcoming scooters expected to launch in India by end of 2020
Coronavirus pandemic has brought everything across the globe to a standstill. The COVID-19 spread has affected all forms of trade and business, manufacturers have stopped production and the dealers are also helpless at this point of time. The lockdown has forced manufacturers to launch their products digitally and most of them have shifted focus to battling the COVID-19. Hopefully, the situation will be better in a few months and we will be seeing bikemakers at full swing and many launches that have been delayed because of the novel Coronavirus. Here is a peek at the upcoming scooters in India.
Aprilia SXR 160
When? Q3 2020

The scooter was first seen at the Auto Expo 2020 and it will be launched sometime around the festive season this year. The Aprilia SXR 160 looks attractive with the triple headlamp setup, twin LED taillight, LED signature lighting and tinted windscreen. It gets a fully digital instrument cluster, telescopic front forks, split glove box with a USB charger and under-seat storage with light. The scooter will be powered by a BSVI 160cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that makes 11PS of power and 11.6Nm of torque.

These were shown along with the SXR scooters at the Auto Expo 2020 and they retain the old silhouette. The new additions include full LED headlamp setup, tinted visor and chrome mirrors. Braking is done by 200mm disc at the front and 140mm drum for the rear section. Shock absorption is still done by the same single sidearm front suspension and the dual effect hydraulic shock absorber at the rear. The 125cc range gets CBS and the 150cc gets ABS. The two engine options include a BSVI compliant 149cc fuel-injected engine that makes 10.5PS of power and 10.6Nm of torque and a 125cc fuel-injected engine that makes 9.9PS of power and 9.6Nm of torque.
