Volkswagen Vento lineup trimmed ahead of Virtus launch
With the Volkswagen Virtus expected to make its debut in the coming months, Volkswagen India has discontinued certain variants of the Vento sedan. The Vento will most likely be discontinued completely when the new sedan launches but for now the Vento Comfortline and Vento Highline Plus manual variants have been axed.
Volkswagen Vento variants 2022
The top-spec Highline MT, Highline AT and the Highline Plus AT variants of the Volkswagen continue to be available for the time being, alongside the Matt Edition models launched during the 2021 festive season. Notable features include a touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, USB connectivity, footwell lamps, a rear parking camera, rear AC vents, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, automatic climate control and cruise control.
The Vento is powered by a 1-litre TSI engine that produces 110PS and 175 Nm that pairs with a six-speed automatic.
2022 Volkswagen Virtus launch date, expected price
The Volkswagen Virtus is expected to debut in India after the launch of the Skoda Slavia in early March 2022. The two sedans will be mechanically identical which means that the Virtus will continue to be powered by the 1.0-litre from the Vento in both manual and auto guise. Top-spec GT variants should get the 1.5-litre motor with 150PS and 250 Nm, paired with a six-speed manual or seven-speed DCT. Most of the tech and features seen on the Taigun SUV should also make their way here. Prices should start from around the Rs 9 lakh mark.
