Volvo Car India surpasses 1,000 EV sales
Volvo today announced that they have now officially sold over 1,000 EVs in India since they launched their first EV back in November 2022. "On the occasion of World Environment Day, we are happy to announce that Volvo Car India has delivered over 1000 EV cars. This achievement is another milestone on our journey towards becoming an all-electric company by 2030," said Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director of Volvo Car India.
The XC40 Recharge began the Swedish brand's EV innings in India and was also the first locally assembled luxury electric SUV in India. Volvo Car India offers three EV models in India, the XC40 Recharge, the C40 Recharge and the single-motor XC40 Recharge.
The Volvo XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge boast a larger 78kWh battery pack and a two-motor setup producing 408PS and 660Nm of torque. It supports a 150 kW DC fast charger, delivering a quick 10 to 80 percent charge in just 28 minutes.
The XC40 Recharge single motor version utilises the 69kWh battery pack, offering a WLTP range of 475km, with an iCAT range standing at 592km. The single electric motor generates 238PS and 420Nm of torque, with a top speed rated at 180kmph.
Prices for Volvo EV porfolio start from Rs 54.95 lakh for the single motor car and the Volvo XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge are priced at Rs 57.90 lakh and Rs 62.95 lakh respectively (ex-showroom). Volvo Car India is committed to launching one electric vehicle every year with an aim to turn its entire portfolio into electric vehicles ahead of 2030.
