Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X mobile application launched on FZ-FI and FZS-FI
Yamaha India has launched a smartphone application, called the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X. This has been introduced on the company's popular 150cc offerings, the FZ-FI and FZS-FI. However, Yamaha has also confirmed that it will offer the same on its entire range of two-wheelers which will also include the scooters. To use this application, the user has to get an additional accessory from Yamaha which has to be fitted on the motorcycle, that can be done at the dealership level. The accessory has been priced at Rs. 3,000 (including GST). It can be fitted at any of the official Yamaha dealerships in the country, without any installation charges on the BSVI iteration of the FZ-FI and FZS-FI motorcycles.
The Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X application can be downloaded from the Play Store or iOS App Store for free. Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X can be enabled in just two steps of registration, which will require the owner's detail along with the VIN number of the motorcycle. Yamaha mentions that the application has six main features. Answer Back, wherein the bike indicators start blinking and the horn starts beeping; Locate my bike, where the bike indicators will illuminate for 10 seconds continuously. Hazard, this feature allows to alert and throw caution, when the bike is in distress. All 4 indicators will start blinking continuously.
The Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X application will also give information on the distance, average speed, brake count and battery voltage. The application also stores the last parked location of the bike and helps navigate the rider from their current location to the bike using GPS. Additionally, you can view individual trip details of every ride and also get info on where you have parked your bike.

Yamaha India will be offering the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X on the FZS-FI Dark knight, the price of which has been updated from Rs 1,05,200 to Rs. 1,07,700, making it more premium by Rs 2,200. Will be available from November 1, 2020 onward.
