Winter is here and so is the December issue of OVERDRIVE! This month, we have plenty of stories to keep your spirits up, starting with the 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA. Rohit takes the car out for a spin to tell you what's new and what's not with this update. He also drives the most affordable Maserati you can buy in India -- the Ghibli diesel -- only to find out that it's not really that affordable at all.
Next we have Rishaad giving us a thorough look at what Hyundai's second revival this year -- the Tucson -- has to offer in a segment that a lot of people consider dead or dying. Once that was done, Rishaad went out to find if the upcoming Tata Hexa is more than just a rehashed Aria. Yes, he says. But how different? You'll have to read the story to find out.
Meanwhile, Shumi was in Spain having a ball with a very gorgeous topless model -- the Audi R8 V10 Spyder. Since he was in that continent already, he also decided to pay a visit to the TVS-Sherco Dakar team in France and find out what's up! Plenty, as he soon found out. Vaishali meanwhile, was busy gathering all the information there is about the 2017 Dakar Rally for you to read.
Closer home, Bert took the all-new Toyota Fortuner for a drive outside Cochin to see if it could fill the large shoes that the previous model has left behind. Lijo on the other hand, was out testing Toyota's fail-safe against the still uncertain NGT diesel ban -- the petrol-powered Innova Crysta. Does it make more sense than the more expensive 2.8-litre diesel variant? You got to read the magazine.
Once you find out about that, you'll also want to read Rishabh's review of the Nissan Terrano with a 6-speed AMT. We know what you're thinking -- "AMT? Ha! I'd rather have a manual." But before you jump to conclusions, do see what Rishabh has to say!
Rahul, meanwhile, has had his hands quite full this month, hogging quite a bit of the action. First he took the Jaguar F-Pace for a whole day and refused to give the wheel up to anyone except Rishaad. And even he had to pull a rank to get it! It's gorgeous, it's fast and it handles like a dream! But is it worth the heavy Rs 1.59 crore price tag? To ponder over that, Rahul headed to Delhi to be driven around in two of the most affordable luxury hybrids in India -- the Honda Accord Hybrid and Toyota Camry Hybrid. Needless to say, he has a story about that too.
But sitting in the back seat can get quite boring, as he soon found out. So he went out and got his hands on the Volkswagen Polo GTI. 192PS, 0-100 in 6.7 seconds and the legendary GTI badge -- sounds like a lot of fun right? It was! But was it fun enough to steal Rahul's heart away from his one true love, the Mini Cooper S JCW? While we can't tell you the answer to that, we will tell you that it was a very, very tough call.
But as soon as that story was done, Lijo saw his one shot and stole the keys to the Mini and didn't let anyone else near it for a whole week! He ate with it, slept in it and even considered running away with it. What got him so madly in love with the car? Sorry, but you'll have to read his story to find out.
What you'll also find is that Ashok has been busy testing all the bikes this month. First, he took not one, but two gorgeous Italian twins -- the Moto Guzzi V9 Roamer and Bobber -- on a long date that left him extremely charmed! But clearly, that wasn't enough because he immediately went to Delhi to ride a very, very different kind of motorcycle -- the Ducati Multistrada 1200 S. Boy, was he in love!
