We're a quarter of the way into the year already. And, if the two red beauties on our cover this month are any indication, it's going to be a hot, hot summer! The brand new Honda Civic and the Mercedes-AMG C 43 Coupe don't seem to have a single bad angle to them, and our photos pay testament to that.
We've also driven a very, very big car for India so big it's called the 'big new' Wagon-R. The last one was a hot-seller, and we've got our first impressions for you in this very issue. We've also got Mahindra's new baby, the XUV300, in this issue and the anticipation for both of these cars is spectacular, if your reactions on social media is anything to go by.
We've also been dune bashing in Rajasthan, in the refreshed Ford Endeavour, which as we find out remains as capable as ever. A short spin in VW's baby SUV, the T-Roc, has us excited about what its derivatives will look like when they get to India next year. Not to forget, we've pit the new Nissan Kicks against the segment leader, the Hyundai Creta, and the challengers who have come before it, the Renault Captur and Maruti Suzuki S-Cross. Finally, we've got the Mercedes-Benz V-Class, which can ferry three quarters of our next comparo story. No jokes, we tried.
The Hero Destini 125, Suzuki Burgman Street and TVS Ntorq 125 are all exciting scooters in their own way, bringing heat to the 110cc scooter market. Speaking of, we have news of classic cars that are up for grabs, from Fiats to Rolls-Royces, and if you're looking for a classic beauty, look no further. We also got a chance to run alongside some beautiful equestrian horsepower, in Jeeps new and old.
Our motorsport section is packed this month. We spoke to TVS Racing's KP Aravind about what it means to him to finally finish the gruelling Dakar Rally, and how he managed it, despite nursing a broken wrist. And since March brings with it the season-opening round of MotoGP, we got Michael Scott to give you the most detailed analysis of what to expect from the 2019 season of Grand Prix motorcycle racing. Then, in his column, Scott wonders what we ought to expect from the new Honda pairing of Jorge Lorenzo and Marc Marquez, and takes us on a journey on teammate rivalries over the years.
With the F1 season also beginning in March, we've got a handy primer for you, of all the teams and drivers, only it's in verse form, because who doesn't like a good motorsport rhyme, eh? Meanwhile, Dan Knutson has written a column on the Sauber name finally departing Formula 1, and how the sport now welcomes back Alfa Romeo.
Our WRC columnist, Martin Holmes tells the story of how Markku Alen became world champion for the shortest period of time in the sport's history. It is a tale filled with intrigue and sorrow, and you simply cannot miss it!
Plenty more racing action too: we went and watched some 4x4s bashing about in the dunes at the 2018 Ultimate Desert Challenge. And also to the MMRT to witness the season finale of the 2018-2019 MRF Challenge, where Jamie Chadwick made history by becoming the first woman to ever win the championship.
