2019 Ford Figo to be launched in March
The updated Ford Figo for the model year 2019 will be launched next month in India. The hatchback is expected to be based on the same platform as its predecessor, however, it will get a new engine option from the family's Dragon range of petrol engine.

The updated car will share the same mechanicals from its sister cars, the Ford Aspire and the Ford Freestyle. A new 1.2L three-cylinder petrol engine will be added to the petrol variants. The petrol powered hatchback will produce almost 96PS and 120Nm of torque. On the flip side, the diesel variant will be powered by the same 1.5L four-cylinder mill that produces 100PS and 215Nm of torque. A 1.5L four-cylinder petrol engine could also be offered with an automatic (Dual clutch) gearbox for customers seeking a hassle-free drive.
Esthetically, the hatchback will receive a mild refresh. The dated styling of the hatchback will be revised to be on par with the competition. The grille will be redesigned and will have chrome highlights. The air damp will be styled more aggressively and the foglamp housing design is expected to be tweaked as well.

Inside the cabin, the upcoming hatchback will sport the new 7-inch touch-operated infotainment screen with the recent version of Ford's sync 3 system. Apart from the infotainment screen, the car will be updated with a MID (Multi-information Display) in the instrument cluster.
The 2019 Ford Figo hatchback will carry a similar feature list as the Ford Aspire which will include six airbags for safety, ABS (Anti-lock braking system), EBD (Electronic brake distribution), automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers and a rearview camera.

The updated Ford Figo was recently launched in South Africa, however, we expect the upcoming hatchback to carry more creature comforts than the international car. Post its launch the 2019 Ford Figo will rival the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 and the Volkswagen Polo.
Recently a Ford Aspire Blu edition was spotted testing. We expect the same Blu edition to be offered with the Ford Figo as well. As seen with the Ford Aspire, the Ford Figo CNG could also be offered in due course of time.
