2019 Hyundai Grand i10 Nios: Variants explained

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is the newest competitor to the likes of popular hatchbacks like the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Ford Figo. This segment is unique in how it finds itself at the juncture of being aspirational as well as cost-conscious. A good package is necessary then, with a right blend of features and frugality.

The Nios is available with two engine and gearbox options. The petrol is the 1,197cc four-cylinder Kappa unit good for 83PS at 6,000 rpm and 114 NM at 4,000 rpm. The diesel is the three-cylinder 1,186cc U2 CRDi motor that makes 75PS at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm at 1,750 to 2,250 rpm. Both engines will be available with a 5-speed manual and, new for this generation, also with the 5-speed AMT that debuted on the Santro.  the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios petrol manual and petrol AMT have a fuel efficiency figure of 20.7 and 20.5 kmpl.
