For Nissan India, the Kicks is an important car, so much so that they've already announced it will be the official car for one of the biggest events for the most watched sport in India â€" the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. But you don't have to wait for the World Cup to see the Kicks â€" you can read our first impression of Nissan's crossover SUV from when we drove it in Bhuj, and bookings for the premium Nissan start in a few days, ahead of its launch in January. The Kicks is very similar to the Terrano SUV already on sale in India, which didn't have resounding commercial success. But Nissan have re-engineered that existing platform into something larger, better finished, more feature-packed and more premium. Further, here's the details of the new Nissan Kicks in its India-spec, in pictures.

More SUV stance and size compared to the smaller international-spec Kicks, still has enough soft edges to be called a crossover

Larger than the Terrano too, with which it shares its M0-platform with - by 53mm in length, while wheelbase at 2,673mm is the same

Kicks appears smaller than the Terrano, thanks to its sloping roofline, curvy rear end and steeply raked windscreen. Overall height too is 15mm lower on the Kicks

Modern looking front end, unique too, thanks to Nissan's family V-motion grille up front and centre. LED DRLs integrated in headlights, with fog lamps on lowest part of bumper, front camera in Nissan badge

Stalk rear-view mirrors always look premium, these ones also hold the side view cameras for the 360 degree camera system

17-inch wheels get a diamond-cut finish, and wear Apollo Apterra HDs sized 215/60 R17

Familiar 1.5-litre diesel K9K engine seen here, with costs evidently kept in check with parts of bracing left unpainted

Highly premium feeling cabin on this top-spec car, thanks to large leather strip on dash and modern, floating 8-inch touchscreen infotainment

Analogue tacho, digital multi-information display and speedo... and disproportionately large fuel gauge

Six-speed manual gearbox on the diesel, while petrol variants get a five-speed manual gearbox

360 degree camera that Nissan calls Around View, first in the segment, and works even in low light situations

12V socket, single USB charge port is quick-charging, while carbon-fibre weave texture is also seen at other touch points around cabin

Large door pockets all around easily hold 1-litre water bottles, with space leftover

Rear bench good for three adults, with good knee and head room. Rear seatback shorter than expected, probably to match the window line

Boomerang shaped tail lights use ordinary lighting elements
