Maruti Suzuki's production cut down by 10 per cent in April
Maruti Suzuki has stated that their production had been cut by 10 per cent across factories during the month of April. After reducing production in the month of February and March, it is the third consecutive month that the company had cut down its production.
In the month of March, the company reported a production cut of 20.9 per cent and in February, the production was over eight per cent as compared to the corresponding month of last year.
The production of the passenger vehicle was cut by 10.3 per cent to 1,44,702 units with respect to 1,61,370 units in the corresponding month of 2018. The compact vehicle segment also saw a drop in production from 83,709 units to 83,411 units
The company has also reported that the production of vans has come down to 10,688 units from 14,407 units which is a 25.8 per cent drop. Excluding their utility vehicle segment, the company reduced the production of all the other segments including their cash cows.
