Auto Expo 2018: BMW G 310 R, G 310 GS and F 750/850 GS to be showcased
Right from the time BMW announced its partnership with TVS Motor Company, the Indian audiences have been waiting for the G 310 R to come to India. And that time has finally come as come 2018 Auto Expo and BMW is expected to finally launched the G 310 R in India. BMW will be joining the likes of the other car and bike manufacturers to showcase their premium range of motorcycle in India. Here is a detailed look at some of the offerings that are expected to be present at the BMW pavillion in the Delhi Motor Show.
BMW G 310 RThe BMW G 310 R is a modern, aggressively styled, street naked with lots of BMW cues. BMW had made it clear that TVS is their Indian production partner and that BMW developed the BMW G 310 R and will play a vital role in ensuring that the Indian-made G 310 R meets the German motorcycle maker's quality standards. BMW has developed an all-new engine that will power the G 310 R, the same was introduced in the newly launched TVS Apache RR 310. The G 310 R will be BMW Motorrad's first locally produced motorcycle and is powered by a 313cc, liquid-cooled single producing 34PS and 28Nm. The reverse inclined motor is one of its biggest highlights and has allowed BMW to make the bike very compact. Expected to be a stonker of a machine, the G 310 R will be launched this June, cost a little over Rs 2 lakh
The BMW G 310 GS is based on the G 310 R and retains the same 313cc single-cylinder engine which makes 34PS/28Nm. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. Unlike the G 310 R, the G 310 GS gets a higher riding chassis and longer suspension. It is the third motorcycle to be developed under the collaboration between TVS and BMW. It gets ABS as standard and BMW claims that the G 310 GS can reach a top speed of 143kmph.
BMW F 750/850 GSBMW Motorrad intends to bring these two motorcycles to the country via the CBU route from Munich, Germany. However, BMW Motorrad will ensure good pricing for the F750GS and F850GS when they are launched in India, just as they did with the flagship adventure model, BMW R1200GS, earlier. The mid-segment adventure motorcycles from BMW Motorrad have been completely redesigned, the company claims. While the the F750GS is designed for who want to experience a an all-round travel enduro in combination with a low seat height, the F850GS features a more touring-friendly personality with enhanced off-road ability. The F750GS and F850GS come powered by the same 853cc parallel twin-cylinder engine with a 270-degree firing order, which produces 78PS / 83Nm on the 750, and 96PS / 92Nm on the 850. The engine is housed within a steel bridge monocoque frame. The motorcycles feature ABS, stability control and Rain / Road riding modes as standard.
