2019 BMW X7 SUV launched in India at Rs 98.90 lakh
The 2019 BMW X7, the new flagship SUV for the brand, has been launched in India at Rs 98.90 lakh, ex-showroom. There will be two variants at this price, a locally assembled xDrive 30d and the CBU xDrive40i. The xDrive30d DPE Signature styling package. BMW will also launch the xDriveM50d in October, which with its quad-turbo diesel will be the range-topper.

The car sits above the X5 in its range and is the first three-row SUV from the German car-maker for India. Dimensionally, the car will be similar in size to the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class. The car has an altogether more upright stance when seen alongside other BMW SUVs. the front has a massive iteration of the kidney grille which is flanked on either side by slim all-LED headlamps. These sit above an aggressive-looking bumper with large air inlets The sides profile is relatively subdued with only a single shoulder line running the length of the car. Wheel sizes are a substantial 22-inches. The rear gets a split tail-gate, much like the Range Rover, which can support weights of up. The DPE package adds a flashier exterior trim package

The interiors come with tech and refinement features at par with the 7-Series, which is also being launched alongside this. All three rows have large amounts of space for occupants and two seating options have been made available. One six-seater option with the xDrive30d with two captain's chairs in the middle row or a seven-seater, like in the xDrive40i, with middle bench seat. The interior comes with two 12-inch touchscreens, a new design for the centre console which incorporates glass elements, advanced gesture control functions and panoramic sunroofs for all three rows. Other notable tech includes the parking assistant plus with a surround-view camera, reversing assist, 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, onboard Wi-Fi, a wireless smartphone charging pad and laser lighting. The petrol misses the laser headlamps, rear entertainment package and only gets four-zone climate-control system, instead of the five-zone unit in the diesel.
The X7 diesel can be had with eight paint options and three interior trim choices. For the petrol, there are 12 exterior colour options and four interior themes.
The xDrive30d uses a 2,993 cc, six-cylinder in-line diesel engine and puts out 265PS at 4,000 rpm and 620 Nm at 2,000 â€" 2,500 rpm. BMW claims this version of the X7 can get from 0 to 100 kmph in 7s and go on to a 227 kmph top-speed. The petrol has a 2,998 cc motor with 340PS at 5,500 â€" 6,500 rpm and 450 Nm at 1,500 â€" 5,200 rpm. This gets the SUV from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.1s and goes on to 245 kmph.
The BMW X7 competes with the likes of the Range Rover, the Volvo XC90, the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLS and Audi Q8, and the Porsche Cayenne.
