2019 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Standard unveiled, could be headed to India
Harley-Davidson motorcycles are all about the loud rumble and the blinding chrome with tons of gadgetry to support that. But their latest offering takes a detour from that. The 2019 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Standard has been unveiled and it comes with the absolute essentials of touring. Or as Harley would describe it, the Dressed down Dresser that provides a raw, fundamental riding experience inspired by Harley-Davidson's Grand American Touring roots. The Electra Glide Standard is priced at $18,999 which is approximately Rs 13.31 lakh, ex-showroom. (excluding the taxes and the import duty). We believe Harley-Davidson India could look at bringing the EGS to our shores in the near future.
The 2019 Harley Davidson Electra Glide Standard features the iconic batwing fairing, chrome trim, standard saddle bags, and cast aluminum wheels. The chrome detailing has been done the polished rocker, cam and derby covers and while a select components have been blacked out. The features list also includes standard electronic cruise control, hand-adjustable emulsion-technology rear shock absorbers, 49mm front forks with Showa dual bending valve suspension, and Brembo brakes with optional Reflex Linked and ABS features.
The Milwaukee Eight 107 cu. in. V-twin engine puts out 150Nm of torque at 3,250rpm while the power figures continue to be undisclosed as HD believes their motorcycles are all about the impressive torque. The unit is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and comes with hydraulically actuated assist-and-slip. Braking duties are taken care of by 320mm floating rotors with four-piston calipers in the front and 320mm fixed rotor with four-piston caliper in the rear. ABS will be offered as an optional feature in the international spec model.
