2020 Honda WR-V facelift launched in India, prices start from Rs 8.50 lakh
Honda Cars India has launched the facelifted Honda WR-V crossover in India. The base petrol WR-V is priced at Rs 8.5 lakh and this goes up to Rs 11 lakh for the top-spec diesel engine, prices ex-showroom. Honda has already been accepting bookings for the new WR-V for Rs 21,000.
The facelift can be had with two engine options. The 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol makes 90PS and 110 Nm and is paired with a five-speed manual. The 1.5-litre i-DTEC, same as the one in the new City, makes 100PS and 200 Nm. This is paired to a six-speeder. The petrol has an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 16.7 kmpl while the diesel returns 23.7 kmpl. Both engines are BSVI compliant.
The most prominent external changes to the WR-V facelift are the new grille and headlamp set-up. It now gets a three-dimensional horizontally slatted grille with the signature thick chrome slat on the top. Flanking the chrome are the new LED headlamps. While the shape is more or less the same as before, the internals have been reworked to house the new lighting element with the DRLs. The tail lamps also get the diffused C-shaped light guides.
Notable features on the inside are a touch-panel for the climate control, a sunroof, seven-inch infotainment with navigation, keyless entry and start, tilt and telescopic steering and cruise control. There are two airbags and a rear-view camera as standard. There are two trims, SX and VX, with both engines options.
The top-spec petrol WR-V is priced at Rs 9.7 lakh and the base diesel costs Rs 9.8 lakh. The Honda WR-V competes with the likes of the Tata Nexon, the Mahindra XUV300, the Ford EcoSport, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Hyundai Venue.
