The Tata Tiago, which was launched recently has been creating quite a buzz. It's the company's pivotal car which aims to take on its competitors like the Maruti Suzuki Celerio and the Hyundai Grand i10. It's got a quirky design which is aimed at the younger audience, and is offered in two engine options. The first is a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 85PS and 114Nm of torque. The other one is a 1.05-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine making 70PS and a 140Nm of torque.

The Tiago has quite the friendly face, with just the right amount of chrome
The rear end has a quirky feel to it with its wraparound taillights
The side profile looks very well proportioned and rather fetching thanks to its character lines
The 1.2-litre petrol engine is not very refined. However, it does the job and managed to go from 0-100kmph in a respectable 14.5 secondsÂ
The sleek new headlights are a welcome change
175/65 R14 alloys feature only on the top-of-the-line XZ variant
The Tata Tiago's interior is a mixed bag. The top half is made of quality plastics, while the cost-cutting measures are quite evident in the lower half
The instrument cluster is simple and easy to read. However, the plastic bezels surrounding it look and feel quite cheap
The eight-speaker Harman infotainment system is top notch. The infotainment unit has tactile buttons and is very easy to connect to your smartphone
There is sufficient legroom for rear passengers thanks to its 2,400mm wheelbase. However, this is ideally a four-seater car
