Jaguar XE facelift debuts new naming nomenclature for trims in India
Jaguar India's first launch for this year is the XE facelift. This year particularly has been an important one for the JLR brand as it commands 16 per cent market share in its segment. And it plans to continue the growth with the introduction of newer models like the I-Pace all-electric SUV and also the iconic new-generation Defender that comes in the coming months, as confirmed by Jaguar India. With the XE, Jaguar has also debuted the new naming nomenclature that will be seen on its present and upcoming models.
The Jaguar XE was previously available in three trims - Pure, Prestige and Portfolio wherein the Pure was the base trim and the Portfolio was the top-spec trim. In the new naming nomenclature, Jaguar will be naming the trims in line with the Land Rover range. The base trim will be called the S and the mid-spec is being referred as the SE. There is a top of the line HSE trim as well that is available in the international markets. Further, Jaguar cars will also have the performance of the models mentioned in the form of the fuel type followed by the power output. The powertrain options of the Jaguar XE are DP180 and P250, which indicates that the former is a diesel that makes 180PS and the latter is a petrol that produces 250PS.
The Jaguar XE is the British luxury automobile manufacturer's answer to the likes of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4 and the BMW 3 Series. Jaguar has launched the updated XE at Rs 44.98 lakh ex-showroom for the base petrol and diesel models. Here's our detailed first drive reviewÂ
