Mahindra XUV500's infotainment system now comes with Apple CarPlay in India
Mahindra and Mahindra has updated the XUV500's infotainment system with Apple CarPlay connectivity. With this update, the Mahindra XUV500 features both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity in addition to its connected features like connected apps, emergency call and Ecosense. The Apple CarPlay feature will be available on the top-end W11 variant of the XUV500 that is priced at Rs 17.09 lakh for the manual transmission model and goes all the way to up to Rs 18.45 lakh for the W11 optional AWD model. The company mentions that the existing owners of the XUV500 W11 can visit their nearest dealership and get their infotainment updated with Apple CarPlay free of cost.
Mahindra states that the XUV500 customers will have in-car access to hands-free telephony, Apple Music audio books, podcasts and CarPlay supported third-party audio applications. Further, the hands-free telephony feature will enable customers to make and receive phone calls on the move. The Mahindra XUV500 has become the third vehicle in the company's portfolio to come with Apple CarPlay after the Marazzo MPV and the XUV300 SUV.
Earlier this month, Mahindra had added a new base variant to the XUV500 SUV, called the W3 which has been priced at Rs 12.22 lakh, ex-showroom. Previous to this update, the XUV500 was being offered in W5, W9, W11 and W11 option variants wherein the W5 is priced at Rs 12.80 lakh and the most premium spec variant, W11 Optional with AWD and AT is available at Rs 19.63 lakh, ex-showroom. The newly launched W3 variant is Rs 57,877 lower than the previous base variant W5. Interestingly, with this pricing, the W3 competes with the Nexon XZ Plus diesel, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga ZDi, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza ZDi+++, Renault Duster RXS CVT, Nissan Kicks and the Hyundai Creta.
