Maruti Suzuki India sells over 2 lakh BSVI vehicles in six months

Maruti Suzuki India first launched the BSVI compliant Alto 800 and Baleno hatchbacks in April this year. Since then Maruti Suzuki has been updating its portfolio with BSVI compliant vehicle. And the manufacturer has sold over 2 lakh units of BSVI compliant vehicles in the past six months.

Maruti Suzuki states that they have tested their BSVI vehicles with BSIV fuel and there has been no mechanical or operational concerns. The BSVI norms will be implemented from April 1, 2020, which will ensure cleaner running cars as well as cleaner fuel in the country, however, Maruti Suzuki India is way ahead of the deadline.

Commenting on the milestone, Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, "We thank customers who have opted for our BS6 range of vehicles. We believe that mass adoption is one of the most important factors for success of any new technology. Offering eight BS6 compliant petrol vehicles in the mass segment, much ahead of timeline, has helped us to reach this technology to a larger customer base."

He added, "Early introduction of the BS6 range represents our commitment to Government of India's vision for clean and green environment."
