Next-gen Hyundai Grand i10 to launch in India on August 20
Hyundai India will launch the next-generation of the Hyundai Grand i10 in India on August 20. This is the third generation of the i10, and like the previous two cars, this is also a global premiere.
The new Grand i10 will get a complete redesign, as numerous spy images have shown. It will most likely get the latest iteration of the Hyundai cascading grille, as seen on the Venue. We also think it'll be softer in its styling with restrained curves and simple lines but with a good mix of sharp angles, as seen by the sharper headlamps, alloys and larger taillamp cluster on the test mules. Space and airiness should improve too, as seen by the larger glass house. The interiors will also see a complete rethink. Expect the large 8-inch floating touchscreen from the Venue along with its BlueLink connected car tech, with the slimmer AC vents below that. The instrument cluster could also be the updated one from the small SUV, while a good mix of soft-touch materials and dark colours could make for a more upmarket feel.
Engine options are expected to remain unchanged. The 1.2 petrol motor is expected to be BSVI complaint now, but make a similar 83PS and 116 Nm. The 1.2-litre U2 diesel should also carry on, in BSVI guise, with its 75PS and 194 Nm.
The Grand i10 has been a major success for Hyundai ever since its launch. It continues to be a good seller and this new car is expected to improve on its strengths like refinement, features and premium features. The Grand i10's notable competitors are the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ford Figo, and the Tata Tiago.
