Royal Enfield Classic 350 becomes more affordable - Launched at Rs 1.47 lakh
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 now gets a variant positioned lower than the standard Classic 350. The new lower variant gets a single-channel ABS (Anti-lock Braking System). The changes also include lesser chrome bits and more blacked-out panels - a theme is commonly seen on the Royal Enfield 'X' series. That said, the new lower variant is most likely to be called the Royal Enfield Classic 350S.
Along with the single-channel ABS, the new variant gets a drum brake assembly in the rear. That could have helped the manufacturer shave the cost off the motorcycle. However, mechanically the new motorcycle remains the same - still gets a 349cc air-cooled engine producing 20PS and 28Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Reports online suggest that the new variant will have a price tag more affordable than the current motorcycle on sale. Currently, the Classic 350 equipped with a dual-channel ABS is priced at Rs 1.53 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The price tag that of the lower variant is Rs 1.47 lakh, ex-showroom Kerala. Which is Rs 6,000 lesser than the standard variant.
Further, the cosmetic changes include blacked-out spoke wire wheels, and the new Classic 350 will be available in two colours - Black and Silver. Currently, the new Classic 350 is available in select states of South India.
Royal Enfield has been spotted testing the next generation Classic and the Thunderbird motorcycles. The spied motorcycles could be based on an all-new chassis and houses a new engine which is likely to be BSVI compliant. The new range of Royal Enfield motorcycles is expected to launch by early 2020.
