Triumph Bonneville T100 launched in India at Rs 7.78 lakh
Triumph India has launched the new Bonneville T100 at Rs 7.78 lakh (ex-Delhi). The bike will be available across all Triumph dealerships and bookings for the bike have commenced. The Bonneville T100, at this price, takes over as the entry level offering in the Bonneville range. The bigger, Bonneville T120 is priced at Rs 8.7 lakh (ex-Delhi).
The T100 is powered by a 900cc, liquid-cooled, 8-valve, SOHC, parallel-twin engine that develops 55 PS at 5,900rpm and 80Nm at 3,230rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The T100 gets a brand new tubular steel, twin-cradle frame. Upfront there are 41mm KYB forks and twin KYB shocks with adjustment for pre-load. Braking duties are handled by a single, 310mm floating disc upfront and a single, 255mm disc at the rear.
While it may look all retro, Triumph has kitted the bike with modern technology such as ABS, ride by wire and a switchable traction control system. It also gets a USB charging socket that's located conveniently under the seat.
Triumph says that the T100 is lighter than the previous bike and has shorter wheelbase, rake and trail. The low seat height, at 790mm will also suit every type of rider, it adds.
The twin-pod LCD instrument cluster has an analogue speedometer, analogue tachometer, odometre, two trip meters and gear position indicator , fuel gauge and distance to empty readout. It also displays average and current fuel consumption, traction control and throttle mode status. The T100 has a service interval of 16,000 kilometres, making it affordable to maintain, says Triumph.
Price wise, the Triumph Bonneville T100 goes up against the Ducati Scrambler, Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Harley-Davidson Iron 883.
