What to expect from Revolt's all-electric motorcycle - India debut tomorrow
Revolt's all-electric motorcycle is scheduled to debut tomorrow in the Indian market. So far, the manufacturer has revealed the design sketches of the motorcycle. By the looks of it, the all-electric motorcycle will boast a conventional styling. The suspension unit is expected to be a USD (upside-down) fork in the front and a monoshock unit in the back. The alloy wheels are 8-spoke units.
Also, Revolt's all-electric motorcycle will be India's first motorcycle equipped with AI (artificial intelligence). Also, expect the power output to be shy below 5PS and the bike could tip the scale under 85kg. As mentioned earlier, the bike will be AI enabled which could mean that the motorcycle could have its own cell phone application to let the user know about its current status updates and whereabouts.
The motorcycle has also received ARAI certification for a range of 156km in a single charge. Revolt claims its electric motorcycle has also passed the 10.2-degree gradient test, which is considered to be a crucial one. The battery has undergone tests including those for performance, cycle life, nail penetration, shock, all-weather and waterproofing. On the performance front, the bike will have an electronically limited top speed of 85kmph and will also offer different riding/power modes.
Adding to that could be the subsidy that the bike could benefit from FAME-II. For the electric two-wheeler to comply to the FAME-II norms, the vehicles must have a top speed of over 40kmph and should have a minimum charge range of 80km. Also, the electric vehicles must have at least 50 per cent of the components sourced locally. So far we know that the Revolt motorcycle fits the bill, and we'll soon find out if the all-electric bike will get subsidy or not. Expect a price tag of Rs 1 lakh.
