Kia Motors will be starting its all-new innings in the country this year, mid-2019 to be precise. The company's first-ever offering for the Indian market will be an SUV that will be based on the SP2 concept showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. The SUV is expected to be launched in India by June 2019. The premium car manufacturer has now released teaser images of the SUV which highlight its design. The Kia SUV will compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV500. The upcoming SUV will be manufactured in India and will be exported to other countries.

As seen in the sketches, the one on the left is the sketch while the one on the right is the actual render of the SUV. This gives us a proper idea of how the production-spec Kia SUV will appear when it launches in the next couple of weeks. The Kia SUV will comes with a wide Tiger nose grille, which is believed to be one of the unique design elements of Kia Motors. With a design, based on the 2018 Kia SP Concept, the upcoming SUV gets a robust design character with sophisticated details, such as its long hood, a strong, sophisticated character line on the front bumper, and sharp lines pressed into the bodywork. Its strong shoulder line, matched with a glasshouse which tapers towards the rear of the car, as well as rear bumper with a metallic muffler effect. The SUV gets LED headlamps which extend over the radiator grille. The lamps feature a three-dimensional light graphic and a highly technical diamond pattern at their trailing edges. The design is also echoed in the rear LED lamps.

"We have created a car which stands out everywhere, from the city to the countryside. Its robust yet sporty design will be matched by a wide range of features and technologies that are universally suited to younger buyers in markets around the world. Our new mid-SUV is a proposition that no other car in its class will match," commented Byung Chul Juh, Head of Kia Styling at Kia Motors Corporation.
