Sinan Ozkok takes over as President of Nissan India

Nissan India today announced the appointment of Sinan Özkök as President for its Indian operations. Sinan replaces Thomas Kuehl who was appointed president of the India operations in 2017. The Japanese automobile manufacturer mentions, Sinan, 49, has overseen a significant growth in Turkey for Nissan and brings with him 26 years of experience within the automotive industry. Prior to joining Nissan India, Sinan was the managing director at Nissan Otomotiv A.?. (NOAS), Nissan's national sales company in Turkey since 2015. "I am looking forward to working in one of the most dynamic and important auto markets in the world. Nissan and Datsun offer a broad and compelling line-up for customers and I will be working to develop the full potential of both brands in India," stated Sinan.

Sinan started his career with the French automobile brand, Renault in 1993. He has held key positions across Marketing, Dealer Network Management, Retail Operation and Sales. He then moved to Nissan in 2015. Commenting on the new appointment of Sinan Özkök, Nissan chairman of the Africa, Middle East and India region, Peyman Kargar, commented, "I am delighted that Sinan will be driving Nissan's business forward in India. Not only does he bring with him a vast experience of working within the industry over many years, but also has a proven track record."

In 2017, Thomas Kuehl replaced Guillaume Sicard, who stepped down as president to take up a position at Renault as VP of sales and marketing, Asia Pacific and MD, South Asia. Thomas was in charge of marketing, sales, research, manufacturing and development. He was roped in to give both Nissan and Datsun a new direction as well as develop new strategies for product introduction, and customer and dealership satisfaction.

In other news, the Renault-Nissan alliance is planning to make a comeback into the LCV (Light Commercial Vehicle) market in India. In an interaction with ETAuto, Denis Le Vot, Global Head of Renault-Nissan Alliance recently confirmed, "As far as Group Renault is concerned, we have been developing our international footprint in the light commercial vehicle space very attentively since last year. We have started a new business in China. It is now true that the Indian market is of much interest to us. We are actively working on relevant platforms to tackle this (Indian) market. Very soon we are going to talk about it."
