Suzuki Gixxer 250 naked motorcycle debuts in India - priced Rs 1.59 lakh
Suzuki Gixxer 250, finally debuts in India for the introductory price of Rs 1.59 lakh. The Gixxer 250 has similar styling as the Suzuki Gixxer (155) although the decals on the panels tell them apart. The headlamp upfront is an all-LED unit, which is identical to the Gixxer that we've seen in OVERDRIVE's recent road test. The panels and the sculpting of the fuel tank are identical as well.
The dashboard consists of an LCD instrument cluster and the motorcycle gets a handlebar setup. The seat is split adding to the sporty nature of the motorcycle. The motorcycle is available in two colours - combination of Metallic Matte Platinum Silver with Metallic Matte Black and a Metallic Matte Black.
The major difference is in the power source. The Gixxer 250 employs the same mechanicals as the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250. Gets a 249cc single-cylinder engine that puts out 26.5PS at 9,000rpm and 22.6Nm at 7,500rpm. As the Gixxer SF 250, the engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The cycle parts include telescopic suspension units in the front and an adjustable mono-chock absorber in the rear. The motorcycle gets disc brakes on both ends equipped with ABS (antilock braking system).
At this price point, the Gixxer 250 rivals the Yamaha Fazer 25, KTM 250 Duke, and the Bajaj Dominar 400.
