Honda Amaze VX CVT launched in India at Rs 8.56 lakh, ex-showroom
Honda Car India Limited (HCIL) has added a new VX CVT trim on the Amaze sedan, priced at Rs 8.56 lakh, ex-showroom. Previously, the CVT (automatic) variant was available only in the S and V grades of Honda Amaze. The VX automatic trim is placed above these grades and is available in petrol and diesel. The Honda Amaze diesel VX CVT has been priced at Rs 9.56 lakh. The features list that will be offered on the VX CVT trim include 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with turn by turn navigation, Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity, steering mounted voice control switches and rear camera.

The all-new Honda Amaze was launched in India in May 2018. Powering the new Honda Amaze are the same four-cylinder 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 90PS and 110Nm and four-cylinder 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 100PS and 200Nm. The new Honda Amaze benefits from an all-new automatic transmission though, which is a CVT and is being offered with the petrol and diesel versions both. This is the first time Honda is offering a CVT transmission with a diesel engine in India outputs for the diesel automatic are lower than that of the manual version at 80PS and 160Nm though. A major highlight on the new Amaze, apart from its all-new design, is the increased space inside the car, as Honda has increased the wheelbase to liberate more leg and kneeroom, particularly at the rear.
In terms of safety, front passenger seat belt reminder and high speed alarm are offered on the Amaze sedan as standard. Addition of these features were done to comply with the safety regulations that will be implemented from July 1, 2019. The Amaze was always equipped with standard rear parking sensors, ABS, dual airbags, Isofix child seat anchorage, impact sensing door unlock. The new gen Amaze contributed to 46 per cent of total HCIL sales in FY 2018-19. It registered a sales of over 85,000 units in 11 months since its launch in May 2018.
