2018 Triumph Tiger 800 to be launched in India on March 21, 2018
The 2018 Triumph Tiger was first showcased at the last year's EICMA show. The company claims to have made more than 200 upgrades to the chassis and engine. Triumph India has now sent an official invitation announcing the launch date of 2018 Tiger. Company dealerships across the country have already started accepting bookings for it while deliveries are expected to begin shortly.
The 2018 Triumph Tiger will feature a more optimised version of the 800cc three-cylinder engine from the previous iteration. The triple produces 95PS of power. Triumph has included a shorter first gear for enhanced acceleration, off-road traction, and low-speed maneuverability.
Tech upgrades on the new Triumph Tiger include full-colour 5-tinch TFT display, six riding modes including a new Off-Road Pro mode, Brembo front brakes, optimised suspension configurations, handlebar-mounted backlit switch cubes, all-LED lighting, and updated cruise control.
The Tiger 800 family is split into two just like before, with the XR line-up catering to those wanting on-road comfort, while the XC line-up focuses more on off-road riding. There's four bikes in the XR family including the XRX LRH with a low seat, while the off-road line-up has the XCX and XCA. Depending on which variant you're looking at, the Tiger 800 boasts up to six different riding modes, and the XC line-up now features Off-road Pro mode that turns traction control and the rear wheel's ABS off to let you slide the bike at will. The XRT version comes equipped adjustable 43mm front forks from Showa, which offers compression and rebound adjustment and boast 180mm travel.
