All new Hyundai Grand i10 spied on test in India
The next generation Hyundai Grand i10 was spotted doing on test in India. Two test mules were spied, we speculate one being of the higher trim level and the other could be of the lower trim. Expect Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) to officially unveil the updated Grand i10 by the third quarter of 2019.
The spied cars were heavily camouflaged, however, some styling bits were exposed - such as the newly designed alloy wheels and black inserts in the headlamps. The hatchback was also equipped with roof rails and blacked out C-pillar, however, these features will be chopped down in the lower trim.
We expect the platform of the new Hyundai Grand i10 would be heavily revised although the drive train would remain the same. The current 1.2L petrol and diesel engines are expected to be carried in the updated hatchback. Four-cylinder petrol engine producing 83PS at 6000RPM and 116Nm of torque at 4000RPM. While the three-cylinder diesel mill producing 75PS at 4000RPM and 190Nm of torque at 1750RPM. Currently, the car is equipped with the five-speed manual and four-speed automatic, however, the updated car is expected to break cover with an AMT (automated manual transmission) option.
The new vehicle is expected to offer more creature comforts to be at par with the rivals in the B segment. The current generation Hyundai Grand i10 is priced between Rs 4.97 lakh to Rs 7.58 lakh ex-showroom- New Delhi and the car competes with other hatchbacks in the segment such as the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Ford Figo.
